Boris Johnson offered to set Javier Milei up with Mick Jagger, report says

LONDON — Boris Johnson reportedly agreed to try and help Argentinean President Javier Milei meet Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger.
The former U.K. prime minister met the libertarian, chainsaw-wielding Argentinean president in Buenos Aires Monday as Johnson promotes his new book.
The pair spoke for more than an hour and, according to local media, ended with an agreement that Johnson would try to organize a meeting with Milei’s hero Jagger, the Rolling Stones frontman.
The Buenos Aires Times reports there was a “good understanding” and rapport between the pair as they discussed a potential visit by Milei to the U.K.
Johnson praised his “great conversation” with Milei on X, and said it was “uplifting to hear his defense of freedom, capitalism, open markets and democracy worldwide.” A spokesperson for Johnson was approached for comment.
Jagger and Milei’s politics might not be a natural fit. The Rolling Stones frontman has previously lavished praise on right-winger Margaret Thatcher, but the Rolling Stones have told Donald Trump —whose U.S. re-election Milei is rooting for — to stop using their songs at his rallies.
Milei gained notoriety during Argentina’s election campaign last year by waving chainsaws during rallies as he promised to cut the size of the state. Since his inauguration, entire government departments have shut down and the economy has shrunk more sharply than expected.
Johnson’s book tour continues in South America with an event in Chile’s capital Santiago Thursday.
