FOX News sends invite to Harris, Trump for second presidential debate

The US media network Fox News announced on Wednesday through a statement that the network has invited former president Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris as contestants for another round of presidential debate between the two candidates on either October 24 or October 27.
Republican candidate Trump met his counterpart Harris in a presidential debate for the very first time on September 10 and exchanged arguments on policies and performance. However, after the first debate between the two, Trump aired his gripes about debates and said he won’t participate in another debate until the country goes to the polls on November 5. It was also the reason why he rejected the invitation for a debate sent by CNN for an October 23 debate. Harris did accept the invitation.
The second debate “would present an opportunity for each candidate to make their closing arguments,” Fox News mentioned in its statement.
The two candidates have only met once in a debate as they contest an election that could tilt either side with many battleground states still unclear in their preferences. The two candidates also vary significantly in proposed policies if they take office. Except the two presidential candidates, their running mates, Republican JD Vance and Democrat Tim Walz met in their first and probably last vice-presidential debate last week.
